So assuming you're like normal people, when you saw I wrote that I try to keep my caloric limit under 1,000, you said "Why Becky, that is NOT healthy. You should be eating 1,200 minimum!! MORE if you work out like you say you do." (that being, Zumba 5x a week, preferably 45-1 hour each)
To me, that is SUCH a laugh!!! I will tell you now, if I eat 1,200 and do my crazed workouts I will maintain. Eat any more and I will gain. And I'm eating healthy foods, too. Yes, I'm being serious. No white foods, save the occasional pasta, but even there I do whole wheat, pasta plus, tri-color... you get the picture. I'm as healthy as a person on a small budget can be.
I eat 3 meals a day, thank you. That whole 5-6 meal thing... who has time for that? I don't. my 3 meals are fine, thanks!
If I'm being perfectly honest with you, eating more than 1,000 cals doesn't even feel necessary. I'm not hungry. I'm perfectly content, satisfied, even. Here's the general breakout of my day:
Breakfast:
-1 piece of multi-grain toast with margarine, laughing-cow wedge, or a fried egg
-Coffee, ocassionally with creamer
150-200 cals
Work Lunch:
-Fiber One cereal (this changes when I feel like I should eat more at lunch, but this has been the general norm for about 2 years)
100 cals
Home Lunch:
Soup, Health TV Dinner, sandwich/wrap... usually with carrots & celery.
200-300 cals
Dinner:
Lord only knows! I try to do a protein, vegetable and small amount of starch.
500-650 cals
So lets tally that up, shall we?
Work days: ~900
Off days: ~950
Whats actually a bit amusing about all this (and this only just occurred to me just recently)is that this is actually the formula my nutritionist gave me when I used to go when I was in high school. Maybe she knew me better than I ever realized. Anyway, my diet seems to do best on this ideal. So yay! Judge away, I suppose.
